Starting with digital image processing, Christiane Feser has increasingly used "real" tools since 2008. She photographs, then folds and cuts the shots, scores, stitches, adds threads and fibres to the surfaces and rearranges everything - only to capture it once again through the lens of the camera. These processes are repeated several times until the two- and three-dimensional become more and more tightly interwoven, and the photograph transforms into a "photo-object". Christiane Feser was born in Würzburg in 1977. She studied at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach. Her work is shown in exhibitions worldwide, including Frankfurter Kunstverein; Getty Museum, Los Angeles; Kunstmuseum Bochum; Palazzo Strozzi, Florence; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York. Her works are in collections of Guggenheim Museum, New York; Minneapolis Institute of Art; Mönchehaus Museum, Goslar; ZKM Karlsruhe, Klein Collection, among others.
