About Us
The House of Paper is the world's first museum of its kind dedicated exclusively to contemporary fine paper art.
We do not show art ON paper, such as drawings or paintings, but art MADE OF paper.
The material paper is presented by us primarily as a visual and creative medium in its surprising diversity and limitless creative potential.
Our exhibition shows outstanding paper art in various media and combinations:
Objects, paper sewing, paper cut, paper and porcelain, charred paper to conceptual art. Among the artists on display are internationally long-established, as well as young up-and-coming names.

Parallel to the collection, the museum also has a steadily growing library with artists, exhibition catalogs as well as various specialist publications on modern and contemporary paper art.

The museum project was initiated by entrepreneurs Ulrike Vohrer and Annette Berr from FineArt-Print manufacturing company d'mage. The museum is accompanied and supported by d'mage, as well as the two companies Hahnemühle and Canon Germany.
Together they have been committed to increasing public awareness of the material paper in the visual arts for many years with projects such as Paper Residency! or the highly endowed Paper Art Award .
