T´URN x Museum Haus des Papiers
A truly special kind of workshop awaits us once again this May, on 18 and 19 May:
A paper urn. Created from memories. For a burial ceremony or for private remembrance and display.
In this deeply intimate six-hour workshop, participants will create individual paper-pulp urns under the guidance of artist Jessica Maria Toliver, using personal materials: shredded letters, fabrics, photographs, soil, ashes, water – fragments of a lived life.
This shared process is not about technique, but about closeness, attentiveness and form.
The urns exist somewhere between sculpture, ritual and biographical object. They may remain as deeply personal keepsakes – or be used as actual burial urns. The materials and construction comply with common requirements for possible interment, including FriedWald criteria.
Extremely limited setting:
Only one participant per session – alternatively a couple or one family.
Two dates available: 18 May and 19 May 2026, each from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
€680 per person / 6 hours
No prior experience required.
A personal introductory phone conversation with the artist forms part of the process.
After a two-week drying period, the finished urn can either be collected from the artist’s studio or sent by post.
Registration still possible until 14 May.
If you are interested in additional dates, please enquire by telephone.
