Armin Linke
In his series Spaces of Democracy, Armin Linke explores how people collectively create and inhabit spaces. The photographs depict sites of power, resistance, and hope. The 2001 G8 summit in Genoa was marked by protests and overshadowed by police violence. The 2008 Mediterranean summit introduced the idea of a Union for the Mediterranean, accompanied by criticism of divisions and lack of participation. The 2011 Occupy camp in front of the European Central Bank symbolized public protest against inequality. Linke focuses on the critical points of these events, revealing the complexity of the struggle for democracy.
